Lock Installation

We provide lock installation on most types of timber and UPVC doors (including garage) and windows. We are asked to do this by customers for a number of reasons including

  • Customer is locked out
  • Customer has lost keys
  • Customer has been burgled
  • Landlord or letting agent has evicted a tenant
  • Existing lock is damaged or has been vandalised
  • Customer wants to upgrade their existing locks

External timber doors

If you have a timber hall door it should have a strong night-latch and a 5 lever dead lock.We can also offer a keyed alike system where you would have one key for multiple locks. If it is a side or back timber door a 5 lever sash or dead lock would provide the best protection to attack from a burglar.

Please note some timber doors have a pull up handle which operates a 3/5 point locking mechanism and has a euro profile cylinder if so please see UPVC below.

UPVC/ Sliding front, side and back doors

Doors with a 3/5 point locking mechanism where you have a pull up handle and a euro cylinder lock. These are the most vulnerable doors and if only a standard euro cylinder is fitted can take as little as 15 seconds to gain entry!! Lacey Locksmiths supplies and fits break secure Pro Snap cylinders and a complimentary security survey of your home/business is always on offer so please don’t hesitate to call and avail of this service. We can also supply and fit a nightlatch to these doors so please call/text or email for details.

Multipoint locking mechanisms 3 and 5 point we stock a wide range of these and will be able to replace your seized or broken mechanism.

TIP make sure to keep your existing mechanism well oiled and operating freely to prolong its life, unfortunatley these mechanisms only have about 5-10 year life. Please feel free to call us on 01 9012666 if you have any questions.

Most sliding patio doors would also have a euro cylinder and would best be replaced with a break secure Pro snap. We can also supply and fit discreet patio push bolts on the inside to add extra security.

The removal of glass panes is also a common form of entry. If your glasss is fitted from the outside you will be vulnerable to this.Lacey Locksmiths has glass locks that will prevent this from happening.
